Man Does Not Live By Bread Alone
The saying is loaded with realism and wisdom. It brings home to the reader a vital philosophy of life that man does not rely only on the earning a living, rather he has got a number of other interests and objectives to achieve. In other words man has got a number of needs, except for food, which he should try to fulfill in his life. There is no denying the fact that the most essential part of life is food. Food plays an integral part in the survival of life. However, a number of other needs such as psychological, physical, emotional etc also exist. These needs are as important as food.
People in general have different interests. And at times it seems that these people with different passions live, only to pursue their interests. Such people do work hard to earn a living; however, that is not their primary goal of life. Their primary goal of life is to achieve their objectives. These are the kind of people, who understand the true meaning of life.
On the contrary, a few men think that the purpose of the life is only to earn food and do nothing else to make their lives meaningful. Such men lead an idle life. They do not have any objectives and goals in the life. As a matter of fact they can simply be called towards.
To sum up, it can be fairly concluded that man has been sent by God to serve the humanity. He should realize the importance of his existence. His primary role must be to help the downtrodden and distressed people of the society. As living a selfish life is worse than death. Thus nobody can deny the veracity in the statement that man does not live by bread alone.
